ZUBELS - WHY SOFTS DOLLS VS PLASTIC ?

ZUBELS - WHY SOFTS DOLLS VS PLASTIC ?

  1. Environmental impact: Cotton toys are generally considered more environmentally friendly than plastic toys. Cotton is a natural, biodegradable material, whereas plastic is derived from petroleum and often takes hundreds of years to break down. By opting for cotton toys, you can reduce your carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.

  2. Safety: Cotton toys are often perceived as safer than plastic toys, especially for young children who may put toys in their mouths. Plastic toys can contain harmful chemicals such as phthalates and BPA, which have been linked to various health issues. Cotton toys, on the other hand, are free from these chemicals and pose fewer risks to children's health.

  3. Durability: While plastic toys are typically more durable than cotton toys, cotton toys can still be quite durable if they are well-made and properly cared for. Additionally, cotton toys can often be machine washed, making them easier to clean and maintain than plastic toys, which may require special cleaning methods to avoid damage.

  4. Sensory experiences: Cotton toys offer a different sensory experience compared to plastic toys. They are often softer and more tactile, which can be beneficial for children's sensory development. Cotton toys can also come in a variety of textures and colors, providing opportunities for sensory exploration and stimulation.

  5. Supporting local artisans: Many cotton toys are handmade by local artisans, which can provide economic support to communities and contribute to the preservation of traditional crafts. By purchasing cotton toys, you can support small businesses and help sustain traditional craftsmanship practices.

Overall, the choice between cotton toys and plastic toys ultimately depends on individual preferences and priorities. However, for those concerned about environmental impact, safety, and supporting local communities, cotton toys may be the preferred option.

Robert,

Cotton is a natural fiber that is grown from the cotton plant, scientifically known as Gossypium. It has been cultivated for thousands of years and is one of the most widely used fibers in the world. Here are some key points about cotton:

  1. Cotton Plant: Cotton plants are native to tropical and subtropical regions around the world. They thrive in warm climates with adequate rainfall. The plant produces white, fluffy fibers around its seeds, which are harvested to make cotton fabric.

  2. Fiber Properties: Cotton fibers are known for their softness, breathability, and absorbency. They are comfortable to wear and suitable for a wide range of clothing and textile products. Cotton fibers are also versatile and can be spun into various yarns for different applications.

  3. Cotton Cultivation: Cotton is primarily grown as an annual crop. It requires well-drained soil, plenty of sunlight, and a frost-free growing season. The cultivation process involves planting seeds, managing pests and diseases, and harvesting the mature cotton bolls.

  4. Types of Cotton: There are several species of cotton plants, each producing fibers with different qualities. The most commonly cultivated species include Gossypium hirsutum (upland cotton), Gossypium barbadense (Pima cotton or Egyptian cotton), and Gossypium herbaceum (African cotton). Each type has its own characteristics and is used for various purposes.

  5. Uses: Cotton is used in a wide range of products, including clothing, bedding, towels, and textiles. It is also used in non-textile applications such as medical supplies, paper products, and oil extraction. Cottonseed, a byproduct of cotton production, is used to produce cottonseed oil for cooking and other purposes.

  6. Environmental Impact: While cotton is a natural and renewable resource, conventional cotton farming can have significant environmental impacts. It often requires large amounts of water and chemical pesticides and fertilizers, leading to water pollution, soil degradation, and biodiversity loss. However, there are efforts to promote sustainable cotton farming practices, such as organic and Fair Trade certifications, to mitigate these impacts.

Overall, cotton is a valuable natural fiber with diverse applications and cultural significance worldwide. Efforts to promote sustainable practices in cotton farming are crucial for reducing its environmental footprint and ensuring its long-term viability as a resource.

organic yarns for zubels dolls - Petit Ami & Zubels All Baby!

organic yarns for zubels dolls

Organic yarns are often considered good for baby dolls for several reasons:

  1. Safety: Baby dolls are often handled and even chewed on by babies and young children. Organic yarns are typically made from natural fibers like cotton or wool that are free from harmful chemicals and dyes, making them safer for children to handle and interact with.

  2. Softness: Organic yarns are known for their softness, which can be comforting to babies and toddlers. They are gentle on the skin and less likely to cause irritation or allergies, making them ideal for use in baby dolls that will be cuddled and played with.

  3. Environmental friendliness: Organic yarns are produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or other harmful chemicals. Choosing organic yarns for baby dolls promotes environmentally friendly practices and reduces exposure to potentially harmful substances.

  4. Durability: While organic yarns may sometimes be slightly more delicate than synthetic alternatives, they are still durable and can withstand regular play. Additionally, many organic yarns are easy to clean and maintain, which is important for baby dolls that may get dirty during playtime.

Overall, the combination of safety, softness, environmental friendliness, and durability makes organic yarns a popular choice for baby dolls.

HELLO WORLD! Joyfully introducing Zubels New Nursery Knit Dolls - Petit Ami & Zubels All Baby!

HELLO WORLD! Joyfully introducing Zubels New Nursery Knit Dolls

IT'S FINALLY HERE...Our new collection of Zubels Nursery Knit Dolls!

We are so excited to finally introduce this very special line of dolls that are waiting to be taken home and become your baby's new companion through infancy.

All of our dolls are handmade with love by talented artisans in the Philippines. They are made with 100% Cotton knit ultra soft yarns and we use eco-friendly dyes because your little one's safety is our number one priority.

This collection is particularly special to me, as it was my first collaboration as a designer with my fellow designer here at Zubels. The inspiration for this collection was mainly a soft pastel color palette that represents the softness and "baby aesthetic" of our Petit Ami line. We wanted to create a collection of baby knit dolls that were more exquisite and that would become the best gift for a newborn. Through this process, we wanted to emphasize the very special stage of infancy. We know that this stage is very short and special and that is why we wanted to create a collection as an homage to newborns.

HELLO WORLD!

Here at Renzo Company we have our toys tested and graded safe for ages 0+. They are all tested and pass the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission Standards. Our toys are designed with you in mind, which also brings me to the point that they wash beautifully! And yes, in the machine, not by hand. Well, by hand if you’d like.

Please check the entire collection on our website!
